What is VB12?
- Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is the only vitamin that contains metal elements. It has a wide range of functions in organisms.
- Vitamin B12 mainly includes four subtypes: cyanocobalamin, methylcobalamin, adenosylcobalamin, and hydroxocobalamin. Among them, cyanocobalamin appears as dark red crystals or crystalline powder;
- Hydroxocobalamin is also a dark red crystal or crystalline powder. Methylcobalamin (also known as methylcobalamin) is bright red, needle-shaped crystals or crystalline powder;
- Adenosylcobalamin (i.e., cobalamin) has an orange-yellow hexagonal crystal structure, but it is easily oxidized in the air and turns dark red.
