What is Mancozeb?

Mancozeb is a broad-spectrum protective fungicide with multiple action sites (low risk of resistance development), low toxicity and no residue (relatively safe for mammals), and the ability to promote crop growth and increase yield while killing bacteria (it contains manganese and zinc). Developed over sixty years ago, it is a leading fungicide in agriculture and horticulture, primarily used for the prevention and control of diseases such as downy mildew, anthracnose, and leaf spot in vegetables. Currently, it is an ideal agent for preventing early wilt of tomatoes and late blight of potatoes.

Why choose Highassay?

Highassay offers 80% pure wettable powder with excellent wetting and dispersibility. Our Mancozeb powder meets the needs of growers and the market in multiple ways, reducing pesticide costs and solving crop disease problems. Our products are ISO certified to ensure that you receive products that fully meet quality standards. They not only have a wide range of applications and high safety performance, but also offer various packaging options for easy storage and transportation.

Benefits of Mancozeb

  • Mancozeb is highly miscible and has strong adhesion. It can be mixed with various fungicides, especially systemic fungicides, exhibiting superior bactericidal effects and resistance to drug resistance. It is also resistant to rain washout and has a relatively long duration of efficacy.
  • Mancozeb is broad-spectrum and safe. It effectively kills various types of fungal diseases, especially spot diseases on fruits and vegetables, while remaining relatively safe for humans and animals (low toxicity, low residue) and having minimal impact on bees.
  • The manganese and zinc contained in Mancozeb not only promote crop growth but also improve crop quality and enhance stress resistance.
  • Mancozeb can be applied through foliar spraying and seed treatment. Our goal is to quickly and effectively solve disease problems; therefore, the simplest method that achieves the desired effect is acceptable. Choose the method that best suits your needs.

Instructions for use of Mancozeb

Mancozeb’s efficacy is maximized only when applied at the correct time.

Mancozeb’s advantage lies in prevention and protection; in other words, its efficacy is only effective before or in the early stages of disease. It has no therapeutic effect afterward, only a preventative one. This is because its control mechanism involves forming a protective film on the crop surface to prevent pathogen infection. Once pathogens have already infested the crop, the formation of this protective film will not produce a therapeutic effect.

Mixing Mancozeb with Other Pesticides

Due to the limitations of Mancozeb’s preventative and protective effects, it is often mixed with other insecticides in the later stages of disease control. This results in a more significant and comprehensive control effect, and also provides subsequent protection.

Mixed with Carbendazim: Mancozeb can be mixed with carbendazim to effectively control various diseases, such as pear scab, ring rot, and anthracnose.

Mixed with Chlorothalonil: Mancozeb can be mixed with or used alternately with chlorothalonil. This not only provides protection but also expands the control range, enhances the control effect, and delays the development of resistance. It can be used to treat tomatoes (early blight, late blight, leaf mold), peppers (anthracnose, downy mildew), and cucumbers (scab, downy mildew, etc.).

The above are just a small part of the possible mixed pesticide applications. Mancozeb has good compatibility. If you have any questions during use, please contact our staff for assistance.

Precautions for using Mancozeb

  • Keep Mancozeb or products containing Mancozeb away from water, as it is toxic to fish and other aquatic life, easily causing their death.
  • Pay attention to the weather temperature when using Mancozeb. High temperatures accelerate pesticide decomposition, causing phytotoxicity, especially in strong sunlight exceeding 35°C.
  • Carefully read the label on the product packaging before using Mancozeb. The concentration diluted with water should not be too high (harmful to crops, applicators, and the environment) or too low (ineffective).
  • Understand which ingredients Mancozeb cannot be mixed with, such as: alkaline substances (which easily decompose and become ineffective); copper-based pesticides (which easily produce toxicity); and organophosphate pesticides (which affect the control effect and cause phytotoxicity). If unsure whether mixing is possible, conduct a small-scale trial before making a decision.
  • Allow a safety interval after using Mancozeb, whether after harvest or before the next application. This interval is necessary for the crops, humans, and the environment.
  • Mancozeb is ineffective against root rot, and it cannot be used on certain plant species, such as tobacco and eggplant. Consult a professional before use.
