What is calcium ascorbate ?
Calcium ascorbate (in powder form, crystal form, or granular form) is the calcium salt form of ascorbic acid (vitamin C).
Calcium Ascorbate (CAS 5743-28-2;305808-15-5;332927-05-6) is a water-soluble vitamin essential for tissue growth, wound healing, and immune function. Its molecular formula is C12H18CaO14, with a molecular weight of 426.34, and it typically appears as a white or off-white crystalline powder.
It is a crystalline powder without any bitter or sour taste, fully reactive, and buffered. It combines 100% pharmaceutical-grade vitamin C and Calcium in a highly soluble form, and its quality conforms to the standards of pharmacopeia (USP/FCC/E302).

Calcium Ascorbate VS Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C Na)
Both Calcium Ascorbate and sodium ascorbate are excellent antioxidants that help enhance immune health. They can be used for vitamin C supplementation.
Compared with Ascorbic Acid, both Calcium Ascorbate and Sodium Ascorbate have less irritation to the gastrointestinal tract.
People with hypertension and those on a low-salt diet should use sodium ascorbate sparingly, as long-term intake may increase sodium intake. Sodium may affect electrolyte balance. In application, sodium ascorbate is mainly used as a food additive and in injection solutions (because sodium is easier to adjust the osmotic pressure).
Calcium ascorbate provides additional calcium and is suitable for those on a low-calcium diet or in need of calcium supplementation (such as people with osteoporosis). In application, calcium ascorbate is mainly added to beverages such as fruit juice and milk powder or health supplements. Sometimes it is also used in scenarios where both vitamin C and calcium need to be supplemented, such as postoperative recovery. However, it should be noted that calcium ascorbate should not be taken simultaneously with iron supplements.
