What is Pantethine?
Pantethine is the active dimeric derivative of vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) and serves as a direct precursor to coenzyme A (CoA) in the body.
In its raw form, pantethine is a viscous, hygroscopic liquid that is sensitive to light, temperature, and humidity; proper storage is recommended to ensure product stability. It is primarily used in high-end dietary supplement formulations and for laboratory research.

Highassay’s Pantethine
Highassay offers pantethine in three mainstream forms: 80% liquid concentrate, 50% carrier-based powder, and >95% high-purity powder for research applications.
Food-grade Pantethine
We primarily supply two forms of pantethine raw materials—80% liquid concentrate and 50% powder—to meet the requirements of various production scenarios.
Pantethine 80% Liquid Concentrate
- Typically a colorless to pale yellow, transparent, viscous liquid with a high active ingredient content (80% in H₂O). It is suitable for production lines equipped to handle liquid raw materials.
- This form is commonly used in dietary supplements and skincare products because the liquid material is easy to handle, add, and blend uniformly.
Pantethine 50% Powder
- Our 50% powder is a carrier-adsorbed product derived from liquid pantethine, developed to meet specific needs.
- It contains 50% active ingredient, with the remainder consisting of carrier excipients. Its advantages include ease of precise weighing and mixing.
Research-grade pantethine
We also offer high-purity (≥95%) research-grade pantethine. This solid powder form facilitates precise weighing and solution preparation, maximizing the reliability and reproducibility of experimental results.
Application of Pantethine
The common applications of Pantethine generally fall into three categories: raw materials for dietary supplements, ingredients for cosmetics, and specialized materials for scientific research.
- Dietary supplements: Pantethine is processed into various forms, such as tablets, capsules, and softgels.
- Cosmetic ingredients: It is added to skincare products for its moisturizing, antioxidant, and skin-brightening effects.
- Scientific research: It is used in applications such as cell experiments, biochemical research, and analytical testing, or as a reference standard.

Liquid is the standard form of Pantethine; however, to facilitate the production of hard capsules and tablets, the liquid raw material is adsorbed onto carriers—such as microcrystalline cellulose or silicon dioxide—to create a powder or granular product.
We provide a complete set of qualification documents, including the COA, MSDS, and test reports; please contact us via email regarding any other required information.
The key differences lie in their intended use, purity, and compliance standards.
If you are manufacturing supplements or skincare products for human use, please choose the food-grade version.
If you are conducting cell experiments or ingredient analysis, the research-grade version is preferred. Do not interchange them.
The choice depends primarily on your production line equipment and the final dosage form.
For soft capsules or skincare products, choose the 80% liquid concentrate.
For hard capsules or tablets, choose the 50% powder (this eliminates the solidification step, making the process the simplest).
Storage Conditions of Pantethine
- Pantethine should be stored in a sealed container, protected from light, and kept in a cool, dry environment; for long-term storage, refrigeration at a constant temperature of 2–8°C is recommended.
- Once opened, the material should be used promptly to prevent degradation or loss of efficacy due to prolonged exposure to air.
- The shelf life is 24 months under standard, unopened storage conditions.
