What is Resmetirom？
Resmetirom is a highly selective thyroid hormone receptor-beta (THR-β) agonist and the world’s first and only drug approved for the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
Our Resmetirom active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) appears as a yellow to orange-yellow crystalline solid and is a small-molecule synthetic drug. It modulates lipid metabolism and alleviates hepatic inflammation and fibrosis, thereby improving and reversing the condition of NASH.
Resmetirom is indicated for moderate to advanced liver fibrosis (stages F2–F3); clinical trials did not include patients with F4 cirrhosis, and its use is not recommended for end-stage disease.

Mechanism of Action of Resmetirom
Resmetirom exhibits high liver-targeting specificity, selectively activating hepatic THR-β receptors to reduce hepatic fat accumulation. As the drug has negligible activity at peripheral THR-α receptors, it effectively avoids systemic side effects associated with thyroid hormone action, such as palpitations and osteoporosis.
The triple effect of Resmetirom:
- It accelerates hepatic fat burning、inhibits the production of new fat,leading to a marked decrease in intrahepatic fat accumulation;
- Simultaneously, it alleviates hepatocyte inflammation、 suppresses hepatic stellate cell activation, thereby delaying or reversing liver fibrosis;
