Latanoprost API
Highassay provides latanoprost pharmaceutical raw material. Latanoprost API is a colorless or pale yellow oily liquid. Its quality meets USP/EP and other pharmacopoeia standards. Its purity exceeds 99%. Long-term storage requires refrigeration at -20°C. Highassay is commercially produced, offering high production volumes, competitive pricing, and a long-term inventory. What is Latanoprost?
Latanoprost is a prostaglandin F2α analog commonly used in ophthalmology. Its chemical name is ISOPROPYL (5Z, 9A,11A,15R)-9,11,15-TRIHYDROXY-17-PHENYL-18,19,20-TRINOR-PROST-5Z-EN-1-OATE. It is highly soluble in acetonitrile and has a molecular formula of C26H40O5. It is primarily used to lower intraocular pressure and is commonly found in eye drops for the treatment of glaucoma.
Latanoprost Eye Drops 0.005% is a sterile isotonic aqueous solution of latanoprost.
Latanoprost Mechanism of Action
Latanoprost is a prodrug that is converted to its active metabolite, latanoprost acid, in the cornea by esterases. This active ingredient is a prostaglandin F receptor agonist that mimics the effects of natural prostaglandin F2α, increasing the scleral outflow of aqueous humor, thereby lowering intraocular pressure (IOP).

How Does Latanoprost Work?
Latanoprost is converted to its active metabolite, latanoprost acid, by esterases in the cornea. This active ingredient is a prostaglandin F receptor agonist that mimics the effects of naturally occurring prostaglandin F2α, lowering intraocular pressure by increasing aqueous humor outflow. It increases aqueous humor outflow through the scleral channel, thereby lowering intraocular pressure (IOP).
Delivery time is generally one week, using express delivery, such as FedEx.
Bulk purchases do have discounts, but the discount varies depending on the quantity. Please contact our sales department for details.
Latanoprost API requires refrigeration.
Latanoprost eye drops should be stored at 15°C to 25°C. Store in the original packaging. After opening the foil pouch, the single-dose container can be stored in the opened foil pouch at room temperature (15°C to 25°C) for up to 30 days. Refrigeration is recommended for long-term storage.
Used to lower intraocular pressure and treat glaucoma.
It’s not strictly necessary to use it at night, but it’s recommended.
The eye pressure reduction begins approximately 3 to 4 hours after application, and the maximum effect is reached 8 to 12 hours later.
Also, after applying the eye drops at night, you’ll be asleep, so frequent application away from the eyes can promote drug absorption and achieve optimal efficacy.
